| 1. The Artist | 2. The Descendants | 3. Hugo | 4. Moneyball | 5. War Horse |
| This little silent, black & white film could possibly steamroll the competition this year. It's been on a fairy-tail run since Cannes, and it's precursor journey has been extremely successful. Is it unstoppable? | I think this is The Artist's biggest competition, Not sure if it can pull off the big award though. | The film leads the nominations with 11, so it's logical to place it in the frontrunner spot, and at the same time it's the dark horse behind The Artist. If it comes down to these two, I hope Hugo pulls it off. | Critical & Public acclaim for the film catapulted this film all year, and it was rightfully rewarded here. It can't win, but it's always nice to be nominated. | I'm glad this film got in the top 9 this year. The nomination is reward enough. |

| 6. The Help | 7. The Tree of Life | 8. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close | 9. Midnight in Paris |

The Help got a BP nod, but it's overall love from AMPAS seems limited. (i.e. Screenplay, Director, Costumes) It definitely was one of the best films of the year, so I'm happy it was recognized.

AMPAS loves Malick, and they reminded us of that.

The Daldry Love Overfloweth |
Woody Allen is back, and this film is excellent. It won't win BP, but it will win Original Screenplay, so a BP nod is the cherry on top. |
